使用指南
Saved an image from the web and got WebP — fine in chat apps, rejected by older Office or editors. This tool converts WebP to the most compatible JPG, in batches, locally in your browser.
1. Conversion flow
- Drop one or more WebP images.
- Confirm quality (90% default) and click Convert.
- Download the JPGs — same filenames with a .jpg extension.
2. Why WebP exists and how long you will keep converting
WebP is the Google format: 25-35% smaller than JPG and supported by every major browser, so sites adopted it heavily for bandwidth. Its gap is "browsers all read it, office software does not" — as long as something refuses to open it, converting to JPG is the answer. The rule of thumb: images for humans to view (chat, web) can stay WebP; images entering workflows (Office, editors, upload systems) should become JPG.
FAQ
Browsers save images as WebP from many sites to save bandwidth. Some software (older Office, some editors) does not recognize it — JPG is the most compatible choice.
JPG is lossy; the default 90% output is visually near-identical. Choose PNG for lossless.
Batch drag-and-drop is supported; everything converts locally with no upload.
